Catawba Island Township Board of Township Trustees

Chairman Matt Montowski called the public hearing to order on Tuesday, January 11, at 7:00 p.m. in the conference room of the administration building.
In attendance were Matt Montowski, William Rofkar, Gary Mortus, Karen Shaw, and Joseph Bires.
Matt Montowski read Rezoning Application 543615 from Norma Jean Winke, Trustee for the property at 3142 N. E. Catawba Road. The request is to rezone a .2066 acre parcel from the “A” District to the “C-4” District and rezone a .9319 acre parcel from the “A” District to the “R-A” District. The .2066 acre parcel is to be sold to an adjoining property owner.
Karen Shaw read a letter aloud from Todd Bickley, Director of Ottawa County Regional Planning, wherein he stated the Planning Commission voted to recommend approval of said request.
Matt Montowski stated the Zoning Commission recommended that the Trustees rezone .2066 acres from “A” to “C-4” and rezone .9319 acres from “A” to “R-A”.
Discussion was opened to the floor. Matt Montowski said Steve May was going to represent Ms. Winke for the proceedings however due to inclement weather he was unable to attend the public hearing.
There being no further discussion from the floor Gary Mortus made a motion to close the public portion of the hearing, seconded by William Rofkar. All voted aye. Motion carried.
The Trustees discussed the case briefly and had no concerns with the request.
Gary Mortus made a motion to approve the recommendation of the Zoning Commission as it pertains to Application 543615. William Rofkar seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried.
William Rofkar made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Gary Mortus. All voted aye. The meeting was adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
