Catawba Island Township Board of Township Trustees

Chairman William Rofkar called the Public Hearing to order on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the conference room of the administration building.
In attendance were Matt Montowski, William Rofkar, Karen Shaw, Brian Snyder and
William Rofkar read Zoning Application 543740 submitted by Catawba Mini Storage LLC. The portion of the property being rezoned is located at 4789 Muggy Road. William Rofkar said the present zoning is “R-5” Residential and the applicant is requesting a zoning change to the “C-3” Highway Commercial District. The parcel to be rezoned contains approximately 1.95 acres of land.
Bob Snyder gave a brief explanation for the request.
William Rofkar noted the request was approved by Ottawa County Regional Planning and the Catawba Island Township Zoning Commission.
Matt Montowski made a motion to approve the application as submitted. William Rofkar seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried.
William Rofkar gave a brief explanation of the following proposed text amendments:
A. Amend the definition of Dwelling
B. Amend the fence requirements
C. Change the word “recreational trailer” to “recreational vehicle”
D. Amend the Finding of Fact for a Conditional Use, Area Variance and Use Variance
Matt Montowski made a motion to approve the text amendments as proposed. William Rofkar seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried.
Matt Montowski made a motion to adjourn the Public Hearing. William Rofkar seconded the motion. All voted aye. The meeting was adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
