Catawba Island Township Board of Township Trustees

Chairman Gary Mortus called the Public Hearing to order on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the conference room of the administration building.
In attendance were Gary Mortus, Matt Montowski, William Rofkar, Karen Shaw,
Roger Riachi, and Tony Corona.
Gary Mortus explained application 544716, a request by Optimus Development LLC for rezoning a 5.85 acre parcel from R-1 Residential District to R-2 Residential District in Section 3, Lot 2 formerly known as Cayman Club Development located at 1870 NW Catawba Road.
Gary Mortus said on July 24, 2013 the Catawba Island Zoning Commission heard the request and it was recommended by unanimous vote. He said the Ottawa Regional Planning Commission reviewed the request and also recommended the change.
Gary Mortus asked for input from the applicant or anyone present.
Roger Riachi spoke on behalf of Optimus Development. He said they will develop the property along with Tony Corona. Roger Riachi said they would like to build single family homes on the property and plan to put a fence between the property and the adjoining campground. He said they are committed to building a quality product and enhance the neighborhood.
Matt Montowski made a motion to close the public discussion. William Rofkar seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried.
The Trustees discussed the request briefly.

Matt Montowski made a motion to adjourn the Public Hearing. William Rofkar seconded the motion. All voted aye. The meeting was adjourned at 7:13 p.m.
