Catawba Island Township Board of Township Trustees

Meeting Minutes

February 10, 2015

The regular business meeting of the Catawba Island Board of Township Trustees was called to order by Vice Chairman William Rofkar on Tuesday, February 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the conference room.

In attendance were Matt Montowski, William Rofkar, Karen Shaw, John Gangway,
Dan Barlow, Diane Belden, Dave Belden, Ernie Wylie, Jack DeVore, and Randy Riedmaier.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all.

Matt Montowski made a motion to approve the January 27 Board of Township Trustees regular meeting minutes as amended. William Rofkar seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried.

Matt Montowski made a motion to approve and pay the bills, including the last payroll, in the amount of $54,770.29. William Rofkar seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried.

Correspondence

The following correspondence was received by the township:

A letter from the Ohio Public Works Commission regarding approval of our grant/loan in the amount of $207,809.

A letter from the Ohio Public Entity Consortium regarding seats available on the OPEC-HC Board.

The Annual Report from the Ottawa County Municipal Court.

A letter from Coldspring regarding Affirmative Action responsibilities.

Fiscal

Fiscal Officer Karen Shaw presented the January 2015 financial reports and bank reconciliation. There were no questions or concerns.

Maintenance

Maintenance Supervisor Dan Barlow said another 100 ton of salt will be delivered in the next week.

Dan Barlow requested approval of a set of steps for approximately $300 for the new dump truck.

Dan Barlow said he would like to host an informative compost workshop in the spring.

The Trustees agreed to the purchase of a set of steps for the new dump truck and to hosting a compost workshop in the spring.


Zoning

Matt Montowski said there were two zoning permits issued as well as one variance and one map amendment for the month of January with a total of $550 collected in fees.

New Business

Diane Belden presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the township from Wreaths Across America in recognition of our outstanding effort in helping to further their mission: Remember-Honor-Teach.

Matt Montowski made a motion to approve the TransCore Federal Siren Maintenance Renewal for $1,514, two sirens at a cost of $757 per siren for the period of March 1, 2015 to February 29, 2016. William Rofkar seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried.

Matt Montowski made a motion to adjourn the meeting. William Rofkar seconded the motion. All voted aye. The meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
