Catawba Island Township Board of Township Trustees

Trustee Chairman William Rofkar called the Public Hearing to order Tuesday, August 23, 2016,
at 7:30 p.m. in the conference room of the administration building.
In attendance were: William Rofkar, Matt Montowski, Gary Mortus, Karen Shaw, Len Partin, and John Kronberg
William Rofkar made a motion to allow Hekron Investment Inc. to be added to the application request as a named owner in addition to Heiberg Inc. Matt Montowski seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried.
Representing the applicant, Len Partin discussed application #008696 a request concerning property situated on the north and south sides of Wine Cellar Road and the east and west sides of N.E. Catawba Road. The present zoning is R-1 and R-2 Residential and the applicant is requesting a zoning change to the R-E Residential Estate District. Len Partin said the current building concept is single family and duplex units with a walking community theme. He said the project is meant to compliment the current restaurant and business and there is no plan to build anything on the property located across the street as they do not want to encourage walking across the street.
The Zoning Commission met Wednesday, July 27, 2016 and recommended approval of the request.
The Trustees discussed the request.
Matt Montowski made a motion to approve zoning application #008696 as requested to change zoning from R-1 and R-2 to R-E Residential Estate District. Gary Mortus seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried.
Gary Mortus made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Matt Montowski seconded the motion. All voted aye. The meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
