Catawba Island Township Board of Township Trustees

Trustee Chairman William Rofkar called the Public Hearing to order Tuesday, December 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the conference room of the administration building.
In attendance were: William Rofkar, Matt Montowski, Karen Shaw, John Gangway,
Dan Barlow, Kevin Wylie, Julie Wylie, Phillip Stively, Jennifer Harmon, Bill VanDerGiessen, Lee Short, Craig Koerpel, Diane Belden, and Randy Riedmaier.
William Rofkar explained the applicant, Phillip Stively, application #008742, is requesting a zoning change from “R-1” Residential to “R-2” Residential District. The applicant is requesting to rezone an approximately .641 acre parcel in Section 3, Lot 5 of Catawba Island Township. The parcel is vacant and located at the corner of NW Catawba Road and Karlite Drive. The owner would like to rezone the property in order to possibly create two building lots. Rezoning to “R-2” will reduce the required lot width from 100 feet to 80 feet and the required lot area from 15,000 square feet to 11,000 square feet.
William Rofkar said the Ottawa Regional Planning Commission met November 15, 2016 and recommended approval of the rezoning request.
William Rofkar said the Zoning Commission met November 16, 2016 and recommended approval of the request.
The Trustees discussed the request.
Matt Montowski made a motion to approve zoning application #008742 as submitted and approved by the Zoning Commission. William Rofkar seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried.
