CATAWBA ISLAND TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TOWNSHIP TRUSTEES
MEETING MINUTES SEPTEMBER 28, 2010

The regular business meeting of the Catawba Island Township Board of Township Trustees was called to order by chairman Gary Mortus at 7:30 p.m. in the conference room.

In attendance: Gary Mortus, Matt Montowski, William Rofkar, Reggie Langford, Pat Cerny, Dan Barlow, John Gangway, James Stouffer and Richard Zoyholfski.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all.

Pat Cerny read the minutes of the previous meeting. There was one correction. The dump truck was relisted with gov.deals, minimum sales price is $9500.00. Matt Montowski made a motion to approve the minutes as amended seconded by William Rofkar. Motion carried unanimously.

William Rofkar made a motion to approve and pay the bills in the amount of $50,270.10 seconded by Matt Montowski. All voted aye.

Correspondence included: From Danbury Township stating Ted Day, Dave Behrens, Dan Barlow and Kevin Johnson attended a Defensive Driving course at Danbury Township.

David Brunkhorst, Ottawa County Engineer, stating this year’s rock salt contract has been let and the lowest bidder is Morton Salt and please contact the office to place orders.

Firelands Regional Medical Center regarding our random testing program.

Notice of violation 2009 Annual Compost Facility Report stating failure to submit a 2009 Compost Facility Annual Report for our composting facility. The report had been filed.

Dan Barlow stated he has had many calls on the dump truck this week. The shingles have arrived for the Administration Building and the soffit wrapping is almost complete.

William Rofkar stated he has been on the School Business Advisory Council and he will continue to do this unless someone else would be interested.

Matt Montowski stated he took fifteen cell phones to Verizon and with every phone you donate they give a one hour satellite phone card to the soldiers overseas.

Pat Cerny gave her quarterly zoning report: Permits were issued for 3 new homes, 6 accessory structures, 12 additions and decks, 5 fences, 2 swimming pools and 4 applications for variances.

PNC Bank may start their WorkPlace Banking program by dropping off information to our employees and will also be invited to give a presentation at our annual health insurance meeting.

The Ottawa County Township Association Meeting will be held on October 28th at Erie Township.

The Community Hall will be opened after Election Day during the week for walkers.

Halloween “trick-or-treat” will be October 31st from 5:30p.m. to 7:30p.m.

There being no further business, William Rofkar made a motion to adjourn seconded by Matt Montowski. All voted aye.
