Catawba Island Township Board of Township Trustees
Public Hearing
January 24, 2017
Trustee Chairman Matt Montowski called the Public Hearing to order Tuesday, January 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the conference room of the administration building.
In attendance were: Gary Mortus, William Rofkar, Matt Montowski, John Gangway,
Dan Barlow, Kevin Wylie, Diane Belden, Randy Riedmaier, and Jack DeVore.
Matt Montowski reviewed the proposed text amendments initiated by the Catawba Island Township Zoning Commission. Some of the major changes and/or additions include:
Adding definitions for Outdoor Wood Fired Furnaces and Portable
Storage Containers as well as requirements for each.
Outdoor Wood Fired Furnaces allowed as a conditional use in the
“A” district.
Clarified wording now stating accessory buildings must be located
in side or rear yard as well as behind the front façade of the principal
building.
Changed parking and loading requirements, they now require parking spaces
to be located on the same parcel and zoned the same as the use they serve.
Removed off-site parking or satellite lots from the resolution.
Matt Montowski said the Ottawa Regional Planning Commission met December 20, 2016 and voted to recommend approval of the text amendments.
Matt Montowski said the Zoning Commission met January 4, 2017 and voted to recommend approval of the text amendments.
The Trustees reviewed and discussed the text amendments.
Gary Mortus made a motion to approve the text amendments as initiated and recommended by the Zoning Commission. William Rofkar seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried.
