Catawba Island Township Board of Township Trustees

Public Hearing

July 24, 2018

Trustee Chairman Gary Mortus called the Public Hearing to order Tuesday, July 24, at
7:30 p.m. in the conference room of the administration building.

In attendance were Gary Mortus, William Rofkar, Matt Montowski, Karen Shaw, Dan Barlow, John Gangway, Kevin Wylie, Ernie Wylie, Patrice Sapola, Jim Davenport, Reggie Langford, Lawrene Montowski, Rick Smetzer, Randy Riedmaier, and Jack DeVore

Gary Mortus said Davenport Real Estate Development, LLC, requests approval of a reduction of the rear yard setback for a house to be constructed on Lot 47 of Falling Waters Subdivision, an approved Planned Unit Development in the township.

Matt Montowski recused himself from the meeting discussion and final decision.

Patrice Sapola requested a minor deviation for her proposed new home and stated four feet of the corner of her home will go into the envelope of the property line. Patrice Sapola presented a drawing and said the four feet will encroach the 20 foot rear yard setback where a sewer easement is located behind the property.

Trustees Mortus and Rofkar discussed the request and agreed they did not have any concerns regarding the proposed minor deviation to the Falling Waters Subdivision PUD.

William Rofkar made a motion to approve the minor deviation as requested for an additional four foot into the rear yard setback and easement of lot 47 in the Falling Waters Subdivision. Gary Mortus seconded the motion. William Rofkar voted aye, Gary Mortus voted aye. Motion carried.

William Rofkar made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Gary Mortus seconded the motion.
