Catawba Island Township Parks Board
Meeting Minutes for April, 15, 2026

Call to order:
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M.

People Present:
Brad Schwan, Jack Madison, Emily Gibson, David Howell, Brian Washburn
Guest: Chris Cellier

Reading/Approval of Minutes: The minutes from the March 18th meeting were read. Jack Madison made the motion to approve and David Howell seconded.

The new Parks Board member Emily Gibson was introduced

Old Business:
Trustees have approved tennis court repair.
Jack Madison will look into fence removal.
Projector & screen for speakers are in the hands of the Trustees and are progressing
Dave Howell suggested we look into a grant for the basketball/pickleball court repair. Jack Madison will look into a grant application.
Emily Gibson asked if anyone has considered a Stinson Foundation grant.

New Business:
Jack Madison will bring marker stakes to the next meeting to layout the new South Meadow Trail.
We discussed whether the Parks Board would like its member size to be increased. There was no vote but the majority recommended to keep it where it’s at.
Daid Howell asked if we could use the existing website to promote our parks. Discussion took place using various events to promote preserve i.e. butterfly walk, owl walk, and 250th year celebration.

Jack Madison made a motion to adjourn, David Howell seconded it.

Meeting was adjourned at 6:44 P.M
