Catawba Island Township Park Board
Meeting Minutes for August 20, 2025

Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 6:05 P.M.

Reading/Approval of Minutes:
The minutes from June 18, 2025 were read and approved.

Items Discussed:
NEW BUSINESS:
Vicki Wheatley read two correspondences. The first was from Jannah Wilson, Executive Director of the Park District of Ottawa County. She explained what the revenue is from Catawba Island Township residents which is collected through a tax levy by the Park District of Ottawa County. She also explained what that money does for Ottawa County and more specifically projects that have been implemented and are on-going in Catawba Island Township.
The second letter was the final report from Black Swamp Conservancy.

Jack Madison reported the Park District of Ottawa County grant applications should be out October 6, 2025.

OLD BUSINESS:
The kiosk status was reviewed. Currently, the draft was submitted by Brad Schwan and was shared with the Trustees. The approval from the Trustees will need to be made and once that occurs, Jerry Davenport can start to develop the sign.

Brian Washburn will be our next speaker and it will be held September 25 at 6:00 P.M. at the Community Hall. Our fall walk will be held October 4, 2025 at 10:00 A.M to kick off Fire Prevention Week.

Decisions Made:

Confirm that the Trustees have the kiosk draft and ask them to have review and approve or if it needs to have changes made.

Get a quote from Jerry Davenport on the signage that will hang from the Cedar Meadow main sign.

Adjournment: Brian Washburn made a motion to adjourn at 6:50 P.M., Jack Madison seconded. Unanimously approved
