MINUTES OF THE CATAWBA ISLAND BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS
JANUARY 10, 2018

Chairman Bryan Baugh called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Board members in attendance included: Jack Zeigler, Doug Blackburn, and Alternates Diane Belden and Flint Heidlebaugh. Also in attendance were Trustee Matt Montowski and Zoning Inspector Todd Bickley. Mr. Baugh dispensed of the reading of the meeting format.
Reorganizational Meeting
Jack Ziegler moved that the 2018 Board Officers be as follows:
Brian Baugh Chairperson
Jack Zeigler Vice-Chairperson
Sandra Erwin Secretary
Doug Blackburn seconded the motion. Motion passed.
New Business
Matt Montowski noted that a training session with the County Prosecutor was not held last year and suggested a session be held this year. The Board agreed and tentatively scheduled a training session for 5:30 P.M., April 11, 2018, subject to the County Prosecutor’s availability.
Old Business
Chairman Baugh reviewed correspondence received from Janice Beals concerning 2954 Chickadee.
Zoning Inspector Todd Bickley informed the Board of the rezoning request by JBS Market at the corner of Porter and Northeast Catawba Roads.
Rick Smetzer indicated that the Ottawa County Common Pleas decision on the Dollar General Store has been appealed.
Approval of Minutes – December 13, 2017
The meeting minutes from the December 13, 2017 meeting was mailed to each member. Mr. Baugh asked if there were any questions. Jack Ziegler moved to approve the December 13, 2017 minutes. The motion was seconded by Doug Blackburn. Motion passed.
Adjournment
Doug Blackburn moved to adjourn the meeting. Jack Ziegler seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 7:13 p.m.
