Catawba Island Township Park Board
Meeting Minutes for December 18, 2024

Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 6:09 PM

Jack Madison, Vicki Wheatley, Brian Washburn

Reading/Approval of Minutes:

The minutes were read and approved.

Items Discussed:

Old Business:
Kiosk – Jack will check with Jerry Davenport to confirm that he received the rough draft of what we would like
on the kiosk. If not, Jack will meet with Brad to obtain the draft and get it to Jerry.
Park District of Ottawa County Grant – a draft was submitted to the CIT Park Board Members as well as the
Township Trustees for review. Jack Madison met with Trustee Belden at Heigel Park to share logistical
information with her. After a review of the draft, suggestions were made. The updates were made and a second
draft was created and sent to the Parks Board members and the Township Trustees. Additionally, Jack Madison
attended the December Trustee meeting to share information on the grant and to answer any questions. The
Township Trustees unanimously approved the grant proposal and the proposal was sent to the Park District of
Ottawa County.

New Business:
2025 Park Board Meeting Dates – the dates for the 2025 meetings were shared and approved. The Parks Board
will keep the third Wednesday of the month at 6:00 P.M. as their meeting date and time.Resident Letter – A letter was read from a community member regarding the labeling of the trails at Cedar Meadow.

Website – Matt Montowski shared that work is being done to updated the Township website which will provide
more information on our parks.
Santa! – Santa will be out and about in the neighborhoods on Saturday, December 21.

Decisions Made:
We will make a plan to update signage and trail identification markers at Cedar Meadow.

Jack Madison made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Brian Washburn, the motion carried and the meeting
adjourned at 6:35 P.M.
