Catawba Island Township Park Board
Meeting Minutes for November 20, 2024

Call to Order:

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M.

People Present:

Brian Washburn, Brad Schwan, Jack Madison, Vicki Wheatley
Guest: Matt Montowski

Reading/Approval of Minutes:

The minutes were read. Jack Madison made the motion to accept the minutes as read, Brian Washburn seconded. The minutes were approved.

Items Discussed:
Old Business: Brad Schwan to deliver the Kiosk draft board to Jerry Davenport. If the office is closed, he will deliver to Jack Madison who will get it to Jerry. Jerry will begin the process to complete the signage for the kiosk. The approved estimate that Jerry gave to the Trustees may have to be adjusted. If the cost projection increases, we will ask the Trustees to increase the funding.

Summary of the Park District of Ottawa County grant proposal with equipment and pad/trail estimates was discussed. Still waiting on estimates for the pads and trail from the Kreimes Company. After that, Vicki Wheatley will begin drafting the grant proposal.

Matt Montowski shared the estimates from the Kreimes Company. The estimate came in well over $200,000.00. With the current budget, the Township may have to wait to complete the resurfacing for the tennis and basketball courts.

Decisions Made:

Complete the grant draft for review for the December Parks Board meeting. Submit the grant proposal to the Trustees for approval.
