Meeting Minutes for October 16, 2024

Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM.

People Present:
Brian Washburn, Jack Madison, Brad Schwan, David Howell, Vicki Wheatley
Guests: Matt Montowski, William Baker, Rod Ashcraft

Reading/Approval of Minutes:
The minutes were read and approved.

Items Discussed:

OLD BUSINESS:
Brad Schwan thanked David Howell for his donations to the Fall walk. He also thanked Brian Washburn and Vicki Wheatley for their participation and organization.

Brad Schwan attempted to contact Jerry Davenport however was unable to make contact. Jack Madison said he would make an attempt to meet with Jerry Davenport and obtained the information from Brad Schwan on the questions that need to be answered by Jerry Davenport. Such as the format the information needs to be on to be sent electronically. Additionally, size restrictions. If unsuccessful, another plan will be discussed.

A discussion on attempts to obtain estimates for the tennis courts and basketball court took place. Matt Montowski has contacted Courtsmith with no success. Kreimes Company is in the Equalis Group and David Howell has made contact. He will reach out and ask Brian Nolder, from Kreimes Company for an estimate. David will then get the quote to the trustees.

NEW BUSINESS:
Vicki Wheatley suggested the CIT Parks Board participate in the Park District of Ottawa County grant opportunity. Some suggestions were an exercise trail at Heigel Park, questioned whether we could use grant funding for the resurfacing of the tennis and basketball courts, or possibly purchase needed equipment to maintain the park/preserve grounds.

Decisions Made:

Jack Madison will reach out to Jerry Davenport regarding the kiosk.

Jack Madison will reach out to Matt Fox regarding an estimate for the exercise trail and get pictures from the exercise trail located inside Lakeside.

David Howell will reach out to Brian Nolder about the tennis court and basketball court resurfacing.

Adjournment:
Brian Washburn made a motion to adjourn at 6:40 PM, Vicki Wheatley seconded. Motion carried.
