Vicki Wheatley shared information about the upcoming speaking engagement to be held February 26 at 5:00 P.M. at the Community Hall. She shared that she increased the outreach beyond the Beacon and Face Book and had it posted on the events through Shores and Islands.

Brad Schwan shared the flyer outline for the kiosk with David Howell to brief him with what has been completed to date. David Howell has extensive experience with Nehls Memorial Nature Preserve and shared information as Nehls has a Kiosk as well.

Mary Dana Johns shared information about the community gardens she would like to bring to Catawba Island. She provided copies of the Port Clinton Community Garden packet as well as 10 Steps to Starting a Community Garden document. Mary Dana Johns has started following those steps in the hopes to bring interested people together to develop a community garden for Catawba Island Township residents. She has organized two meetings, the first was to view the Port Clinton gardens and talk with David Mehl who is the organizer of the community gardens on Beech Street in Port Clinton. The second will be to get a vision, create goals, and evaluate the sites with those who are committed to help. Mary Dana will meet with the Catawba Island Garden Club to garner their support and approval on the potential gardens for the community.

Brad Schwan shared a packet (from Cleveland) community gardens that included a planning outline.

Brad Schwan shared that while in Florida, he noticed canopies that were hung to guard from sun had ripped and were in disrepair suggesting that the same may happen if we were to hang them over our playground equipment at Heigel Park. Questioning the effort and expense of such a project.

David Howell thanked the community members who were in attendance for showing their interest.
